Academics
The CASA-Chile program aims to provide undergraduate students with a unique opportunity for full immersion into Chilean culture and the Spanish language while receiving credit toward their home school degree. The program is available to students from all academic disciplines who have had a minimum of five-six semesters of college-level Spanish (or the equivalent).
Students take a Pro-seminar course designed specifically for CASA students, along with other direct-enrollment courses taken with local university students. The CASA Resident Director assists each student with course enrollment at one or more of three top universities: Univeridad de Chile (UCH), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), and Universidad Diego Portales (UDP). As part of the enrollment process, CASA-Chile students must have their final course selections approved by their home university to ensure credit transfer. A unique aspect of this program is the opportunity for students to partake in a CASA research project focused on the topic of Historical Memory.
